Vista Minerals is a group assembled with forward thinkers committed to transforming the industry with our initiative of responsibly-sourced sand. Our management team has over 50 years of combined experience successfully delivering solutions in sand mining and sand delivery. We leverage our expertise into our owned and operated assets which ensures high performance when delivering our products.

Chief Operating Officer

  • VP OF OPERATIONS

    Mr. Scott joined Vista Minerals in December 2021 as Vice President of Operations. In January of 2023, he was promoted to his current role as Chief Operating Officer. His career leadership experience stretches across multiple surface and underground mining operations and processes throughout North America, serving numerous responsibilities ranging from Director of Sand, Regional General Manager, to Senior Manager of Engineering.

    Aaron was educated at UWEC and CVTC with a degree in Industrial Mechanics. Aaron has served on a multitude of panels and associations in States such as Texas, Minnesota, and Wisconsin while collaborating with various units of governance to enhance rules for Non-Metallic Mining, Safety and Environmental best practices. He has also promptly and professionally responded to various circuits of media, including interviews with local and world news groups. With his operational oversight, Aaron has received awards such as Business of the Year Award and Friends of the Environment.

Chief Legal Officer

  • Ms. McCutcheon joined Vista Minerals in May 2024 with an extensive background in legal and business leadership spanning industrial services, frac sand, transportation, and oil and gas exploration and production. Her role encompasses legal and strategic matters, including commercial transactions, corporate governance, regulatory and environmental compliance, litigation management, as well as oversight of Environmental, Health and Safety and Human Resources. She earned her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from Oklahoma City University School of Law and is an active member of the Oklahoma Bar Association.

Chief Financial Officer

  • Halim Ruiz serves as Chief Financial Officer of Vista Minerals, where he leads the company’s financial strategy, planning, capital allocation, accounting and reporting functions, procurement, and overall financial operations. He brings more than a decade of frac sand industry experience spanning strategic finance, commercial management, procurement, and operations.

    Prior to his current role, Halim held progressive finance leadership positions with Vista Minerals and previously held several roles with Hi-Crush Inc. across FP&A, commercial management, and corporate procurement. While there, he helped commercialize multiple first-mover last-mile solutions and, as Business Manager, helped launch a hyper-localized mine in the Permian Basin. He began his career in financial services and investment banking, focusing on the power and energy sector.

    Halim holds an MBA from the University of Houston-Victoria and a Master of Finance from The Pennsylvania State University, with additional graduate coursework in supply chain management at Michigan State University.

THE EARTH'S SAND

Responsibly-sourced sand includes recycling water; minimizing gas consumption; placing mines and terminals close to end-use locations; and conscious site selection to minimize adverse impacts on the natural environment. Strategic locations minimize logistics, trucks, diesel and labor hours. We continue to seek new ways to improve environmental, social and governance (ESG) for our partners and our earth.

Careful attention is given in all areas of mine planning, mineral processing and land reclamation. Key performance indicators are analyzed to lessen our water, energy and fuel consumption while continuing to fascinate our customers with high-quality products and services.
